The Burnett County Development Association is governed by a seven (7) member Board of Directors - representing a cross section of disciplines in the county, including; business, industry, utilities, medical care, local financial and governmental institutions. The BCDA also partner's with other private, local, regional, state, and federal agencies to accomplish its goals. The Board of Directors meets monthly providing and receiving current information and direction on economic development efforts throughout the county. They work to achieve a healthy economy providing meaningful employment and good personal incomes. They serve as the contact for regional, state and federal economic development programs and various funding sources. They also serve as the primary informational contact for businesses interested in in starting or locating in Burnett County.
Some of the current programs and resources utilized by the BCDA include:
* Business retention and expansion visits
* Business Planning Services
* Business Development Workshops and Referrals
* Development and maintenance of a business directory
* Promoting county growth through its website
* Supporting economically friendly policies
* Assisting with workforce training and development
Tools currently used to support these efforts include:
* Revolving Loan funds
* Small Business Administration assistance
* Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority assistance
* Community Development Block Grants
* U.S.Department of Commerce - Economic Development Administration assistance and other federal grants
and aides
* Assistance in obtaining Tax Credits
* Assistance in obtaining venture capital
* working with local lenders business financing options
