About
The UWM Research Foundation (UWMRF) is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation, formed in 2006, that fosters research, innovation, and entrepreneurship at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM). UWMRF provides a unique complement to the discovery and education mission of the university by helping students and faculty translate their ideas into products, services and companies – creating individuals who think and act like innovators while bringing impactful discoveries to the world.
As the designated intellectual property management organization of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM), the UWMRF employs a structured process for the management of intellectual property related to discoveries, copyrightable works, and inventions, made or developed at UWM by UWM faculty, staff, students and employees. The UWMRF works with the UWM Lubar Entpreneurship center to support innovators through education, training, mentorship, networking, and funding programs to help entrepreneurs in Wisconsin succeed.
