Forward BIO Institute: Innovators in Training Program

The Forward BIO Institute’s Innovators in Training program expands on graduate and post-graduate preparation, providing experiential-based training in skills necessary to successfully transition into the entrepreneurial and technology development workforce.

About

Contemporary biotechnology innovation necessitates interdisciplinary training

The Forward BIO Institute’s Innovators in Training program serves existing doctoral candidates or postdoctoral trainees who wish to augment their technical training with experiential-based training in skills necessary to successfully transition into the entrepreneurial and technology development workforce

In addition to understanding how advanced biotechnology products are discovered and developed, the next generation of scientists and engineers must understand how they are manufactured at scale, assessed for consistency, regulated by governmental agencies, and marketed for commercial use. The core elements of the IIT program consist of educational seminars and training in the skillsets necessary to successfully engage across the technology ecosystem spanning business, legal, regulatory, and scientific expertise. Importantly, these skills are readily transferable to the trainees’ ongoing research efforts and serve to connect trainees to a larger continuum of opportunities.
